Molecular Diversity Analysis in Boro Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Landraces using SSR Markers

Aims: The aim of the study was to determine genetic diversity twenty four Boro rice landraces using genome specific twelve well known SSR markers.
 Study Design: Genomic DNA extraction, PCR amplification, Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and data analysis-these steps were followed perform research work. Data analysed with help following software; POWERMAKER version 3.25, AlphaEaseFC (Alpha Innotech Corporation) 4.0. UPGMA dendrogram constructed MEGA 5.1 software.
 Place Duration Study: conducted at Genetic Resources Seed Division (GRSD), Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Joydebpur, Gazipur, during period November 2017 March 2018.
 Methodology: Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) markers used assay 24 collected from Gene Bank (BRRI).
 Results: A total fifty (54) alleles detected, out which forty five (45) polymorphic identified. Polymorphic Information Content (PIC) ranged 0.08 (RM447) 0.84 (RM206) an average value PIC = 0.49. ranges 0.86 0.52. RM206 marker can be considered as best among studied for landraces. Dendrogram based on Nei’s distance Unweighted Pair Group Method Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) indicated segregation genotypes into three main clusters.
 Conclusion: result revealed that are very effective tools in relationships this conveniently further molecular analysis identify diverse parent development high yielding variety rice.
